grafter.ly Websites

Show customers your work, on your own website.

Your photos, your services and the towns you cover, on a website set up for Google Search. Tell us about your business in a voice note or a few lines and it takes shape as you answer. You see all of it before you pay anything.

Like murrayelectrical.co.uk. Your words, photos and logo come across into a new look; nothing of the old design does.

No account to start. £15 a month when you put it live, no contract.

The Craft look on a phone: Heartwood Joinery, Dunfermline — big photos of the work and a quiet serif.

The looks

Six looks. Pick one, change it any time.

Each one is a finished site in your trade's colours, with your name on it from the first screen. These are the example businesses the builder shows before you've typed anything.

  • The Hi-vis look on a phone: Carron Electrical, Falkirk — dark, with big condensed capitals and one amber accent.
Hi-visDark and bold, big condensed capitals, one bright colour.
  • The Local pro look on a phone: Tayside Plumbing & Heating, Perth — light and sharp, trade and town at the top, call and WhatsApp side by side.

Quote-firstStraight to the job: customers pick what they need and send it.

How it works

Three steps, on your phone.

  1. Your name and town.

Type them and your site appears with your name on it, in the look your trade usually gets. Nothing else to fill in first.

  2. Pick a look, add what you've got.

Choose from six looks. Add photos from your phone, say what you do in a 30-second voice note or a few lines, and tick your services. Skip any of it — the site looks finished either way.

  3. Put it live.

Make your account, pay by card, and it's up on its own address. Connect the domain you already own whenever you're ready.

What's included

What your site comes with.

Enquiries that arrive as jobs
The form on your site lands in grafter.ly as a job, with the customer's details and what they asked for, and you're told by email and text.
Your own address, and your own domain
Your site is at yourname.findagrafter.com from the day it goes live. Connect a domain you already own and the site answers there instead — the domain stays yours, always.
A page for each service, in each town you cover
Written for that service in that town, in your site's look, with the enquiry form already set to it. Up to six services across five towns.
Your review link, and a card for the van
A short link to wherever your reviews live — Google, usually — and a QR card you can print for the van, your invoices and your business cards.
Already have a website? Start from it
Your words, photos, services and contact details come across into the new site. Nothing of the old design does, and you confirm the content is yours before it goes live.
A free check of the website you have now
How fast it is on a phone, whether customers can call you from it, and whether Google can find you — before you decide anything. Check your website
Set up for Google, built for a phone
Every page has its title, description, sharing image and structured data, and photos are sent at the size of the screen they're on.

Questions

Before you start.

Do I need an account to start?
No. Build the site first and look at it. You make an account when you put it live, and pay by card then.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Connect the domain you already own: we show you the records to add at your registrar and check them for you, and the domain stays yours. If you don't have one, your site is at yourname.findagrafter.com — we don't register domains for you yet.
Can I have an email address on my domain?
Yes. The mailbox comes from an email provider, not from us, and your website and your email use different records on your domain. Connecting a domain here leaves email you already have as it is. If you haven't set one up yet, the guide takes you through it. Set up an email address on your domain
I've already got a website. Can I move it?
Start from it: put its address in the box at the top of this page, or in the builder. Your words, photos, logo, services and contact details come across into a new site in whichever look you pick. Nothing of the old design does, and you confirm the content is yours before it goes live.
What's the difference between the two plans?
Both are your website. With grafter.ly as well, every enquiry from your site is a job you can quote, invoice and take payment on. On the website plan you get grafter.ly for the first month; after that you can read enquiries but not act on them in grafter.ly.
Other website builders cost less. What's different here?
A website builder gives you pages to fill in and a form that sends you an email. Here the site is written and laid out from your name, your town and what you tell us, there's a page for each service in each town you cover, and an enquiry arrives as a job you can quote. It's £15 a month, paid monthly, with no contract. If you want an online shop or a blog, a general builder is the better fit.
Can I cancel?
Any month, from your billing page. The site stays up until the end of the month you've paid for, then comes down. We keep it for 90 days in case you change your mind.
Who writes the words?
They're written for you from what you tell us — your name, trade, town and services, and whatever you say about the business — and you can change any line. Nothing is claimed that you didn't say: no years in the trade, no accreditations, no reviews you didn't give us.
Does it work on a phone?
It's built on one. The site, the builder and the editor all work on a phone, and most of your customers will see your site on theirs.

See your site before you decide.

Your name and town are all it takes.
